Workshops
SWAN is hosting workshops for the public and journalists starting on Media Literacy Week, October 21-25, 2024. These sessions explore racist stereotypes about im/migrant sex workers, debunk myths spread by police and NGOs and explain how news coverage can help, or harm, these workers. Workshops also include practical tips on how to spot misinformation and unreliable sources.
March workshops:
1. Raids, Rescue and Racism: How police PR shares news about im/migrant sex workers
2. Myths and Moral Panic: debunking trafficking claims and misinformation about im/migrant sex workers
Thursdays, online, 12:30-1:30 p.m. on March 6 & 20

We acknowledge the support of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation with funding provided by the Government of Canada.
